Boreal Proper Chicken Cat Food is a grain-free cat food, using chicken as a unique new protein source. Starchy ingredients can lead to weight gain and obesity. An alternative to a grain-free diet is to choose foods that don't contain high-sugar grains, such as corn and wheat. Certain cereals, such as steel cut oats, are excellent for your cat and contain many beneficial properties.

The low glycemic index of steel cut oats and barley from the Mennonite farming region of central Ontario and the very low glycemic index of peas and white beans make them fantastic ingredients. Unique source of meat protein to aid digestion and reduce the risk of allergies. Naturally preserved food and is free of potatoes, wheat and corn. Boreal cat food uses AvailaPet, a special collection of minerals bound to amino acids to make the minerals "bio-available".

Organic zinc is easily absorbed and is much more available to a cat than other sources of zinc. Zinc is essential for healthy skin and coat.

Ingredients: Chicken meal, brown rice, oats, pearl barley, chicken fat (naturally preserved with vitamin e), herring meal, apple pomace, hydrolyzed chicken protein, natural chicken flavor, whole flax seeds, salt, potassium chloride, dl-methionine, choline chloride, taurine, whole chia seeds, vitamin E supplement, zinc amino acid complex, niacin supplement, folic acid, vitamin B12 supplement, copper sulfate, iron amino acid complex, manganese amino acid complex, vitamin A supplement, selenium, riboflavin, calcium pantothenate, biotin supplement, vitamin D3 supplement, calcium iodate.

Instructions: For cats from 4.4 to 7 lbs: 1/3 to 2/3 cup per day. For cats from 7 to 11 lbs: 2/3 to 1 cup per day. For cats from 11 to 15 lbs: 1 to 1 1/4 cups per day. For cats from 15 to 20 lbs: 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 cups per day. For cats 20 lbs and +: 1 1/2 cup + 1/8 cup per kg of body weight per day.
